Over and above PPM’s potential to create employment through our operations, we know that true transformation within our communities will lie in the infrastructure we put in place that will endure long past the life of our mine.
Studies have shown that investment in road infrastructure can boost economic activities and enhance the living standards of people, accelerating economic development and improving the well-being of, and ensuring prospects within, our communities. It is in the construction of the Mothlabe and Legkraal roads that we hope to see not only the physical connection of communities but a much-needed and vital economic boost.
PPM is a young mine and, as such, we understand the mark we make on our communities. We have experienced some trying times in the past (and will no doubt face more in the future), but we have always managed to keep production going, to ensure that we continue to contribute towards the social and economic development of our wider community.
We all know that keeping our mine open is not just about jobs but also the impact these jobs and our operations have on our employees and their families. We are constantly reminded that tomorrow is our legacy in the making and that the best vision for tomorrow comes down to the decisions we make today.
